Loners is written especially for the oldest generation of actors in Iceland. The monologues all tell stories of loners, people living in different kinds of isolation: a hermit in a remote valley is obsessed with the strange disappearance of his only neighbor; an old woman who passes away one day in an obscure way talks to her husband who suffers from amnesia while she lies dead in an ambulance rushing through the streets of Reykjavík; a depressive elderly man in an apartment complex in the outskirts of Reykjavík listens to his neighbors as they enter and leave the building while counting the last minutes of his own life; an old woman returns to the house where she grew up - enclosed with her mother - and there, different voices from the past can be heard; an old man decides to break a forty-year-old wall of silence between himself and his closest friend after a serious incident at a recent student gathering; an old woman who has led a long and adventurous life abroad has finally moved back to the fishing village where she grew up and is visited by a well-known Icelandic Radio Producer Nominated for Prix Europa 2010
